Top 10 Catholic secondary schools in the GTA

Compare ten Catholic high schools selected from 99 rated GTA schools. Explore dated results, specialist and French-language programs, regional guides and all schools tied at the cutoff.

The Fraser Institute score measures selected academic indicators. It is one starting point for research, not a complete assessment of teaching, student support, wellbeing or school fit.

Equal scores share competition rank: one plus the number of schools scoring higher. Each list links ten canonical regional profiles. Ties are ordered alphabetically by current common school name, ignoring the French École prefix; every equally scored school outside the tenth-place cutoff is disclosed and linked. A tied school outside the displayed ten is not ranked lower.

List coverage. This comparison uses dated academic indicators. It does not measure overall school quality, determine attendance boundaries or guarantee admission to any school or program.

BEFORE YOUR NEXT MOVE

Your questions,
answered.

How were these catholic secondary schools selected?

This list follows scores in the 2025 Fraser Institute report for the 2023/2024 school year. The full census covers 1,434 rated public and Catholic records in Toronto, Durham, York, Peel and Halton, including French-language schools. All 3,799 Ontario app-record coordinates were checked against official provincial municipal polygons; 1,451 records fell inside the GTA, and 17 private records were excluded. Only schools with published report scores are eligible. Administrative or virtual school addresses can appear in the report census.

Does a higher score guarantee the best school for my child?

The Fraser Institute score measures selected academic indicators. It is one starting point for research, not a complete assessment of teaching, student support, wellbeing or school fit. Consider programs, learning support, travel arrangements and your child’s needs alongside the academic results.

Are the linked new home developments inside these school boundaries?

The developments on each school guide are grouped by municipality. They are not represented as inside the school’s attendance boundary or as eligible for admission. Confirm the exact home address and registration requirements with the school board.

How the GTA school lists are selected

These lists compare the 2025 Fraser Institute Ontario reports, which measure 2023/2024 academic results. Elementary and secondary results remain separate and explicitly dated. They are not current-year test scores or measures of every aspect of school quality.
